To Whom It Does Concern:

I think that love is conceived in the moment that you care more about protecting someone than protecting yourself from them. True story.

Quoted by Friedrich Nietzche, "There is always some madness in love but there is always some reason for madness".

It was intensely insane at one time. The second time around, I didn't learn from it. Few attempts, the stories changed. There's no end to this madness, but it's all beautiful created. :)

does it perish the moment u feel the need for protection then?

Not necessarily... but it does weaken as a result. Love is holistically defined by its giving nature; it's meant to be given and shared. "Protecting oneself" is a defense mechanism that all too often stifles the full effect of love because their very natures clash.
